Lisa Talev, LMT / CHC
I am a Licensed Massage Therapist, Energy Worker and Holistic Health Coach in private practice. I work primarily with women between ages 30-70, and have also worked on children as young as 8 and seniors as old as 96. I have lots of experience working on pregnant women, throughout all stages of pregnancy.
In my massage practice, I especially love working with headache and migraine sufferers, women with PMS and PMDD, women with PTSD, depression & anxiety, fibromyalgia and auto-immune patients, chronic neck and shoulder pain, low back/hip pain, and sports injuries.
I began my massage career in 1998, and worked at several day spas and resorts in the Austin TX area before launching my own practice in 2007. I relocated to Tucson in September of 2016, after 9 years in private practice. Since 2007, all my massages (except prenatal sessions and cases where heat therapy is contraindicated) come standard with hot stone therapy and custom blended aromatherapy. In 2015 I added cupping as a standard “extra,” using 2 different types of silicone cups, to alleviate trigger point pain and myofascial adhesions.
My style of bodywork is best described as Integrative: I blend together multiple modalities in every session, coming from a place of “listening to the tissue and responding,” from a wide variety of tools and techniques. Clients often report they find my work “the most thorough massage I’ve ever had,” because of all the layers I work on, attention to detail and release of structural / postural tension. I also educate my clients on self-care as needed, to ensure they get the best, longest-lasting results they can.
I studied Reiki between 2010-2012 and expanded my business from just massage & bodywork to also offer Holistic Health Coaching by phone & email, starting in 2011.
In my health coaching practice, I love helping people with auto-immune conditions learn to follow a low sugar, gluten-free, dairy-free, anti-inflammatory diet. I am also passionate about helping emotional eaters/compulsive eaters and food addicts overcome unhealthy attachment to junk foods, as I successfully went from being an out of control sugar addict for many years, to following a long-term, low sugar, allergen-free, nutrient dense diet that effortlessly keeps me at a lean weight. As a coach, I help clients adopt a new mindset, find possibilities where they used to see only challenges, and work smarter and more efficiently, not harder.
I also teach EFT/Tapping for self care and stress management to massage and coaching clients, upon request. I have been trained in this modality by Research Psychologist and trauma expert Garland Landrith, III, PhD. I work in tandem with him occasionally in order to get the best possible results for clients whose compulsive habits or food addiction are driven by subconscious fears or beliefs.
I also provide solid, pragmatic support for someone recovering from Candida overgrowth or sugar cravings, or someone who needs to learn a totally new way of cooking, in order to avoid inflammatory or triggering foods. Because I’ve had to live an ultra healthy, clean-eating lifestyle for many many years myself, I enjoy tutoring and empowering others with simple tips and tricks that make healthy living much more simple, stress relieving and satisfying.
I am a graduate of the Lauterstein-Conway Massage School (Austin TX), Texas Healing Arts Institute (Austin TX), San Francisco School of Massage (CA), and the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (NYC). I pursue ongoing study in Massage and in the fields of wellness, behavior modification and personal coaching.
My favorite populations to work with include new moms, female entrepreneurs, high achievers who need regular stress relief, and above all, chronic pain sufferers. I sell multi-session massage packages and coaching programs that help people who need regular bodywork stay on a schedule of treatments that reduces the frequency, intensity and duration of flare ups and pain episodes.
My training includes over 1000 hours of coursework in massage and energy work, as well as Psychology & Brain Health Seminars on the Food/Mood Connection, Aromatherapy, Understanding Depression, Anxiety & Bipolar Disorder, Healing From PTSD, Mindfulness Meditation, Mindful Eating and How to Manage Cravings. I have also trained in EFT, and how to clear Core Limiting Beliefs using Theta Healing.
Part One: Massage Testimonials:
“I saw several massage therapists before I found Lisa, but I’ve never seen anyone else since. She is a passionate student of the human body, and it shows. She has deep expertise in multiple massage techniques, as well as a whole host of specific tools: hot stones, aromatherapy, relaxing music, and more. Most importantly, she tailors the massage (and her wellness advice) to my specific problems and lifestyle, so I always get the work I need, focused on the problems I report, and not just the massage she gives every client. Lisa is the best!” -Jason Duke, Client 2006-2016
“As a long-time massage practitioner and energy healer, I have a great appreciation for all that Lisa brings to her sessions. Truly the Cadillac of massage, she incorporates so many layers of luxury, impeccable attention to detail, structural alignment work and a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to heal on all levels. Her aromatherapy blends are divine, and her quality of touch both grounding and energizing. I’ve used her both as my preferred massage therapist and as my healthy-cooking teacher, and she is my go-to person to consult when health issues arise. She is a wellspring of knowledge, wisdom and insight.”

No matter what part of your body is ailing or bothering you, she knows exactly which muscle groups to work on to give your body what it needs. I consider myself to be extremely picky about the quality of my massages, and could not recommend anyone more highly.” -Jason Su, Client 2007-2012

We have always been athletic so we have always had some type of muscle injury or soreness from workouts. She can get to the heart of the problem in usually the first 15 minutes of the massage; we walk away with such relief that we feel wonderfully refreshed and renewed.
