I offer a variety of treatments for chronic pain. As a Chiropractic Physician, I employ multiple techniques to treat pain. I use low-force techniques and under my care it is not necessary for twisting, cracking and popping of joints.
Naturally, I am trained to do spinal manipulation and I can if you would like. I use Sacro-Occipital Technique which utilizes wedged-shaped blocks under the pelvis to gently realign the pelvis and relax the muscles around it. This also includes craniopathy which involves motion of the cranial bones. It is a specialty only used by about 300 doctors in the world. I use Cox flexion distraction which has published studies showing how it helps low back problems for pre AND post surgical low back pain patients.
For those patients who do not respond to chiropractic or who would like additional therapies to treat chronic pain, I do Neurofeedback. This is also known as EEG biofeedback and involves training different areas of the brain to function differently. Pain can only be felt if the brain perceives it. There are now more and more studies coming out showing how Neurofeedback works with a variety of chronic pain conditions.
I am also a licensed psychotherapist. This means I have experience and training working with the psychological components of chronic pain. This includes depression, irritability, anxiety and more.
I also have training in clinical hypnosis. This provides another tool to help change the minds perception of chronic pain. As a Chiropractic Physician, I am also trained in biochemistry and metabolic processes.
Many times chronic inflammation and chronic pain have biochemical components that need to be addressed for other therapies to work. Examples of this include fibromyalgia and autoimmune disorders. With metabolic testing, I can help pinpoint underlying metabolic processes in the body contributing to pain and help you find ways to change those processes to promote health instead of disease.
You will find I take more time with my patients than the average medical doctor. I care about my patients.
Finally, if I can't help a person, I work with other professionals to help the person get the care they need.
