Individuals with such chronic pain conditions as fibromyalgia, Parkinson's, chronic fatigue, headaches, arthritis, trigeminal neuralgia and other nerve conditions, post-surgical (limb lengthening and other orthopedic, regional pain) challenges are seen. Post-injury and other trauma treatment is a specialty. Most patients have multiple and complex medical conditions.
Dr. Hilewick applies functional medicine in her clinical practice. As able and willling, patients are encouraged to learn applicable self-management and self-regulation techniques. Some of the services are: CBT, DBT, neurofeedback/EEG BF, and biofeedback, peripheral as well as heart-rate variability.
Patients are encouraged to modify their nutrition and exercise exercise choices and habits, as able and over time. We do all we can to assess and address root causes.
Dr. Hilewick is a student of functional medicine and has been for ten years. She serves patients of numerous ethnic and cultural backgrounds. She is fluent in Spanish.
Dr. Hilewick will coordinate your care with your internist or specialists, with your permission. She will explain your conditions and treatment program to your family members or extended family members, again with your permission.
Dr. Hilewick, to the extent feasible, aspires to reduce or eliminate the reliance of patients on medications. No two patients or their treatment programs are identitical. Your goals are honored and respected.
