    Relax, Realign, Renew at ReLeaf!

The creation of ReLeaf Bodywork Therapy is a culmination of Lisa's life experiences, her deep interest in the human body and psyche along with her desire to support healing and growth individually and collectively.   Professionally, Lisa has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare field.  In the early years of her career she worked in Cardiac Rehabilitation as an Exercise Specialist in settings which included inpatient cardiac care and outpatient exercise therapy and education.

She was drawn into the world of alternative and holistic health when her oldest daughter was 10 years old and began suffering from severe, debilitating migraine headaches.  After seeing many specialists and enduring procedures, numerous drug regimens and a hospital stay, Lisa's daughter was told that there was nothing more western medicine had to offer her. This was the catalyst to launch Lisa into the world of holistic medicine and the seed that would later bloom into ReLeaf Bodywork Therapy.

Lisa began studying Craniosacral Therapy to assist her daughter in finding pain relief while meeting with many Integrative practitioners to obtain a holistic approach to migraine prevention and wellness.  Her initial practice began at her home studio to accommodate life/family balance. Over the years, many gifts and challenges continue to remind her to embrace the "Full Catastrophe of Living" in the words of Jon Kabat-Zinn.

Embrace, learn and grow from it all!

Lisa's personal life experiences have shaped the philosophy of her practice. She has journeyed through infertility, adoption, the birth of her second child in 2000 and raising teenage daughters.  In 2015 Lisa welcomed the birth of her first granddaughter who keeps her busy and reminds her of the joy, curiosity and energy of youth.

Today her studio is found within the beautiful Quarry Healing Arts Building, where you can savor the beauty of nature from her office window.  The evolution of her practice reflects her life experiences and journey. She understands the importance of finding comfort, clarity, connection, balance and joy in her own body, mind and life. She understands the challenges women and parents face and she is passionate about supporting families that are facing challenges related to physical, emotional and mental health.

In her free time she loves soaking up all that nature has to offer with her family and friends.  You may find her kayaking at Lake Wingra or exploring Madison's bike trails.

    Namaste!

    Testimonials
“Lisa is a healer. She brings care, attention, dedication, and warmth to her work. She listens deeply to the body, bringing forth our own innate abilities to heal. I just love my sessions with her- they leave me transformed.”
    Carolyn, Acupuncturist

“I saw Lisa for a few body mind sessions before COVID-19, and with each one I found I experienced a release of tension and emotion I didn’t even realize I was holding in my body. When the stay at home order started, as for many people, I experienced an increase in feeling physically and emotionally unwell, including high anxiety and periods of panic. Although I was hesitant to try a virtual body mind session, I am so thankful that I reached out. Although I missed the holding experience of the in-person session, with each virtual session I found that I experienced the same release of tension and emotion that I had come to know with the in-person sessions. Lisa’s guidance helped me sink down out of my thinking mind and touch into what my body sensations were communicating. I loved being able to relax in the comfort of my own bed, and Lisa so gently and skillfully guided me to find a deep relaxation and release each time. As a person who often feels anxiety in my body, it was particularly helpful to be guided in how I could find that release and moments of inner calm at home myself. I have used the techniques she has offered to nurture myself between sessions. Thank you Lisa for your guidance and hope during this challenging time, and for finding a way to continue your body mind work.”

    Michelle- Therapist in Madison, WI

I made my first appointment with Lisa at the recommendation of my physical therapist. She knew that I was wanting to work on maximizing my body’s abilities given that I have MS. She also was aware that I have held my body very tightly for decades and felt Lisa could help me get more in touch with that chronic tension.
I wasn’t sure what to expect. In addition to being extremely knowledgeable about the body, Lisa is warm and caring . While we haven’t been working together for very long, I have found the sessions to be full of comfort, learning and relief. I feel more grounded in my body while at the same time I feel more relaxed and softened
than I possibly ever have felt. The relief is long lasting as well. Lisa is helping to teach my body how it feels when it is flowing with ease and awareness. Learning these skills and feelings late in life feels like an immeasurable gift. Thank you Lisa!

Lisa’s introductory HeartMath ® class gave me the skills and experience that I needed to start my own heart meditation practice at home. The practice introduced me to a feeling of peace along with positive feelings, that I haven’t felt in years. It has given me a way out when feeling stuck emotionally, and showed me a new path of possibilities for healthy emotions and inner peace. Lisa was patient and engaging. I would recommend her class to anyone that is interested in HeartMath.
