Relax, Realign, Renew at ReLeaf!
The creation of ReLeaf Bodywork Therapy is a culmination of Lisa's life experiences, her deep interest in the human body and psyche along with her desire to support healing and growth individually and collectively. Professionally, Lisa has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare field. In the early years of her career she worked in Cardiac Rehabilitation as an Exercise Specialist in settings which included inpatient cardiac care and outpatient exercise therapy and education.
She was drawn into the world of alternative and holistic health when her oldest daughter was 10 years old and began suffering from severe, debilitating migraine headaches. After seeing many specialists and enduring procedures, numerous drug regimens and a hospital stay, Lisa's daughter was told that there was nothing more western medicine had to offer her. This was the catalyst to launch Lisa into the world of holistic medicine and the seed that would later bloom into ReLeaf Bodywork Therapy.
Lisa began studying Craniosacral Therapy to assist her daughter in finding pain relief while meeting with many Integrative practitioners to obtain a holistic approach to migraine prevention and wellness. Her initial practice began at her home studio to accommodate life/family balance. Over the years, many gifts and challenges continue to remind her to embrace the "Full Catastrophe of Living" in the words of Jon Kabat-Zinn.
Embrace, learn and grow from it all!
Lisa's personal life experiences have shaped the philosophy of her practice. She has journeyed through infertility, adoption, the birth of her second child in 2000 and raising teenage daughters. In 2015 Lisa welcomed the birth of her first granddaughter who keeps her busy and reminds her of the joy, curiosity and energy of youth.
Today her studio is found within the beautiful Quarry Healing Arts Building, where you can savor the beauty of nature from her office window. The evolution of her practice reflects her life experiences and journey. She understands the importance of finding comfort, clarity, connection, balance and joy in her own body, mind and life. She understands the challenges women and parents face and she is passionate about supporting families that are facing challenges related to physical, emotional and mental health.
In her free time she loves soaking up all that nature has to offer with her family and friends. You may find her kayaking at Lake Wingra or exploring Madison's bike trails.
