Dr. Gueorguiev is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine and Board Certified Acupuncture Physician who also practices Nuclear Medicine and Computed Tomography at Memorial Hospital of Tampa.
He received his medical degree in Master of Science in Oriental Medicine from East West College of Natural Medicine and further advanced his education with a degree of Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from the highly respected Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, California.
Dr. Gueorguiev started his career at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute in 2006 in Tampa, FL and performed nuclear medicine-PET/CT exams. While he was at Moffitt Cancer Center and was being exposed to staging and restaging variety types of cancers, he also decided to pursue a degree in Public Health at University of South Florida (USF), so he was able to get better understanding of the connection between cancer, life style and environment.
In 2011, he joined USF Physician Group Cardiology Department where he was part of the Nuclear Cardiology medical team, and he was involved in direct diagnoses of many different cardiac diseases, and has become very passionate towards cardiovascular conditions and their treatments.
Also in 2011 to present, he joined Memorial Hospital of Tampa, performing nuclear medicine, nuclear cardiology, computed tomography, and positron emission tomography exams where he has been exposed to a variety of diagnostic diseases. While being at the radiology department, he covers Emergency Room and all floor patients where he has been exposed and has been part of all types of tests, exams, scans and biopsies for different diseases in the nuclear and computed tomography scanner rooms.
In 2017, he joined Locicero Medical Group in Tampa, FL and became their only Alternative Medicine Acupuncture health care provider.
While working with some of the Tampa Bay best Western practitioners, Dr. Gueorguiev has helped patients to receive all types of health benefits not just from the Western medicine approach but Eastern medicine by applying Alternative Medicine therapies such as acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, dietary consultation, supplement prescription, laser therapy, cupping, guasha, Tuina, acupoint herbal and homeopathic injections for all types of diseases.
With all the changes the healthcare arena faces today, Dr. Gueorguiev strongly believes that integrating both Western and Eastern medicine is the best approach for improving patient care and reducing the opioid crisis the country is currently facing.
